Harold Shimmel

Harold L. Shimmel, 83

of 1711 Susquehanna Ave., Hyde died on Thursday, May 2, 2002 at his residence.

He was born on July 29, 1918 in Wallaceton, PA, a son of the late Ellsworth G. and Annie L. (Emigh) Shimmel.

Mr. Shimmel retired from Harbison Walker Refractories after 37 years of service.
He attended the Bible Missionary Church and was an avid reader.
A veteran of the US Army, he served during World War II.

On November 6, 1940 in Wallaceton he wed the former Mabel C. Parks, who survives along with nine children,

numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law Jeff Bush, a brother Robert Shimmel and two sisters Caroline Wood and Pearl Knepp.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday at
11:00 A.M. with Rev. David Letts, Rev. Alan Blackmon and Rev. Raymond Young co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Monday from
10-11:00 AM

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Foundation for Health - Hospice , PO Box 992, Clearfield PA 16830 or to the charity of one's choice.
