Harold A. Wilson, Sr., 80 of 402 West First Street, Clearfield, died on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at Laurelbrooke Landing - McKinley Health Center, Brookville.
He was born on May 25, 1924 in Clearfield, a son of the late Alton and Anna Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was a 1942 graduate of the Clearfield High School and a 1949 graduate of the Indiana State Teacher's College. He retired in 1984 from the Clearfield High School where he was employed for 35 years in the Business Department. He was an assistant football and wrestling coach and head baseball coach for much of his teaching career. An avid fisherman and sports enthusiast, he was also active in youth baseball programs as an umpire for nearly 35 years.
He was a member of The Presbyterian Church, Clearfield and a long time member of various community organizations including the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6, Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540 and the Fourth Ward Hose Company, Clearfield. In 2000 he was elected to the Clearfield County Chapter of The Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
He served in the US Air Force during World War II where he was a member of 305th Squadron, 95th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force and completed 35 Missions as bombardier/navigator on a B-17.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Ruch) Wilson, whom he married June 8, 1949 in Clearfield,

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at The Presbyterian Church, Clearfield on Monday at 11:00 A.M. with Dr. Douglas S. Pride and Mr. Richard B. Barkley officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion Post 6 Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Sunday from 1-5:00 PM and on Monday at the church from 10-11:00 AM.
