Harriet M. Coder, 91, of Clearfield passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023 at the Embassy of Hearthside, State College.
She was born on February 1, 1932 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Howard and Margaret (Rogers) Schickling.
Mrs. Coder was a Registered Nurse and worked in Pediatrics at the Clearfield Hospital for 40 years. She retired in 1997. During her retirement she worked as a Teacher's Aid at the Children's Aid Society.
She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church
She is survived by her children, David Coder and wife Cindy of Woodland, Jason Coder and wife Amy of Bellefonte, and Jolene Coder of York; and two sisters, Lois A. Leitzinger and husband Jim of Clearfield, and Dona Stair of NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis A. Coder on October 23, 2005 and whom she wed October 31, 1965 in Clearfield. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Howard Schickling, Lester Schickling, and John 'Jack' Schickling.
Honoring Mrs. Coder's wishes, there will be no public services.
Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield is in charge of the arrangements.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
