Helen Fletcher

Helen M. Fletcher, 83, of Clearfield died on Monday, March 26, 2007 at the home of her daughter, Jamie Birmingham of Spring Mount.

She was born on October 4, 1923 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Silas J. and Elsie Mae (Shipley) Mann.

Mrs. Fletcher was formerly employed as a cosmetician for many years at Brooks Drug Store in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Conshohocken. She had served as a board member and volunteer for the American Heart Association for several years.

She is survived by three children, Dusty Fletcher of Conshohocken, Dean Fletcher of Syracuse, NY and Jamie Birmingham and her husband, Brian, of Spring Mount; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and and a sister, Mary Hill of Schwenksville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Fletcher on August 1, 1989 and whom she wed April 23, 1943 in St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield, an infant daughter Bennie Fletcher, a daughter Joy White, five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Matthew C. Holbert officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the church on Wednesday from 1-2:00 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 217 E. Pine Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.

The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield is in charge of the arrangements.
