Helen S. Way, 97, passed from life on earth into the embrace of heaven on October 12, 2018.
Helen was born in Elmira, NY, on November 5, 1920, the daughter of Harry Smith and Mattie (Loughhead) Smith.
For much of her life Helen lived in Curwensville, PA. The past seven years she was a resident of Keystone Villa in Douglassville, PA, where she was blessed by special friends and a caring staff.
Helen graduated from Curwensville High School in 1938. She married William B. Way on July 26, 1941 and they celebrated 53 years as husband and wife.
Helen was proud to be a homemaker. Her faith was an integral part of her daily life. She was a member for many years of the Curwensville United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and participated in United Methodist Women.
Helen is survived by a daughter, Susan, of Pottstown, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, and five sisters.
A memorial service will be held at the Curwensville United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 2 PM with Pastor Ethan Shearer officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
