Herbert Rex "Pap" Derrick, 88
of Curry Run died on Saturday, April 3, 2004 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
He was born on August 3, 1915 in Greenwood Twp., Clearfield Co., a son of the late Herman F. and Eldora Belle (Frampton) Derrick.
Mr. Derrick was employed with Clearfield Truck Rental from which he retired. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Curry Run Methodist Church and was a leader for the Boy Scouts.
On September 1, 1935 in Mahaffey he wed the former Esther Lines who survives along with four children,

11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren
and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Renee Neal, sisters Anna Belle Doughty, Alice Matatall, Mildred Ross and brothers Roy, Charles and Chauncey Derrick.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Thursday at
1:00 PM with Rev. M. Bruce Dimmick officiating. Interment will follow in the Mahaffey Cemetery, Mahaffey.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Wednesday from
7-9:00 PM .
