Herman Neamy

Herman J. Neamy, 92, of Clearfield died on Monday, July 20, 2015 at his home.

He was born on December 1, 1922 in New Millport, a son of the late Samuel and Mae (Bell) Neamy.

Mr. Neamy retired in 1987 from Automobile Parts Sales after 41 years of employment. He was a 50 year member of the United Commercial Travelers and had been active at the Chaplin Department for the hospital since 1991. Also Mr. Neamy volunteered at various blood mobiles with the Red Cross.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield where he had enjoyed volunteering his time and efforts. Mr. Neamy also served with the U. S. Army during WWII.

He is survived by two daughters, JoEllen Narehood and Emmylu Accordino and husband Dennis, both of Clearfield; three grandchildren, Denise Narehood of Stroudsburg, Heidi Puzzuto and husband Andy of Clearfield and Drew Herman Philip Accordino M.D. and wife Melissa of New York City; five great grandchildren, Airman 1st Class Jacob Puzzuto RAF stationed in Lakenheath, England, Olivia and Madison Nash of Stroudsburg, and Cooper and Jackson Accordino of New York City; and a sister, Louise Mihal and husband Stephen of New Millport.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean (Herrala) Neamy on August 11, 2002 and whom he wed January 26, 1946 at Faith United Lutheran Church. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Esther Waddell; and four brothers, Frederick, Earl, Theodore and Maynard Neamy.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 11 AM with Rev. Susan Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in the Fruit Hill Cemetery, Irvona.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 10-11 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Fruit Hill Cemetery Association, in care of Blair Williams, 1529 Ansonville Road, Irvona, PA 16656 or to the Clearfield Foundation for Health - Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield.
