Howard Raleigh

Howard Wendell Raleigh, 75

of Ridgeview Eldercare Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville died on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at Clearfield Hospital.

He was born on November 25, 1927 in Glen Campbell, PA, a son of the late Arthur and Mildred C. (Gorman) Raleigh.

He was formerly employed by Leviton Manufacturing Company in New York City. He had also been employed as a general clerk and bank guard on Wall Street and was employed by Crucible Steel Company of Pittsburgh. Mr. Raleigh had sold real estate from 1978 until his retirement in 1988. He returned to Curwensville in 1994. He has had many of his poems published by the National Library of Poetry. A graduate of Curwensville Area High School, Mr. Raleigh attended the Curwensville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
He served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of Corporal and later served with the United States Air Force.

He is survived by a brother and sister
Wayne Raleigh and wife Pauline Alliance, OH
Ruth Ann Wighaman and husband William Clearfield

a niece and nephew,
Nancy Pinto and husband Jim Clearfield
Robert McClure and wife Darlene Curwensville

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Donald Gorman and sister Marie Auden.

There will be no visitation and services will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Curwensville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 803 Susquehanna Avenue, Curwensville, PA 16833.

The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville is in charge of the arrangements.
