Howard E. Siebenrock, 87
of Clearfield died on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born on May 3, 1922 in Clearfield, a son of the late John and Agnes (Zitzelberger) Siebenrock, Jr.
Mr. Siebenrock was employed for 31 years with Harbison Walker Refactories, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
Mr. Siebenrock was a founding member and a life member of the Lawrence Township Volunteer Fire Co. #1 as well as a life member of the Clearfield Volunteer Fire Department 3rd Ward Hose Co.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the US Army.
He is survived by three children, Howard Siebenrock and wife Constance of Denver, CO, Sara "Sally" Askey and husband Paul of Brockport, Donald Siebenrock of Clearfield,
9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren,
and Ceceila Turner of Stronach, with whom he was raised.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Louise (Duckett) Siebenrock on February 24, 1966 and whom he married June 21, 1946 in Clearfield, an infant daughter Patricia Louise Siebenrock and two brothers, Felix and LeRoy Siebenrock.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Friday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday from
2-4:00 PM and on Friday from 9-9:30 AM.
A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 3:45 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield.
