I. Shirley McGary , 86

of Glen Richey died on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

She was born on August 20, 1926 in Michigan, a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Thompson) Rowles.

Mrs. McGary was a homemaker and earlier in her life was employed at the former Clearfield Cheese Co. Prior to that, she attended Wayne University in Detroit, MI where she studied nursing. She was affiliated with the Faith Bible Church, Lumber City.
She enjoyed baking and also was an avid reader. Her greatest enjoyment was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Richard McGary whom she married April 17, 1948 in Clearfield; a daughter, Kathleen Clark and husband Dennis of Glen Richey; three granddaughters, Heather Inguagiato and her husband Robert, Kristen Peters and her husband Michael and Cari Bloom; twelve great-grandchildren; one great great grandson; and a sister, Margaret 'Peggy' Kogstrom of MI.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard K. McGary; a daughter, Barbara Curry; a great grandson, Logan Bloom; and two infant sisters, Saundra Lee and Nadine.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday at 1 PM with Pastor Scott Schultz officiating. Interment will follow in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday, from 11 AM - 1 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, 1 S. Front Street, Clearfield, .
