Isabelle 'Carroll' Peterson

Isabelle 'Carroll' Peterson, 85, of Clearfield, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Carroll was born at home in Clearfield on November 15, 1939, the daughter of Edwin J. and Wilda (Hudson) Thompson.

Upon graduation from Clearfield Area High School, class of 1957, she began a five year employment in the loan department of County National Bank.

In 1962, Carroll married Alfred 'Al' Peterson of Clearfield and proceeded to raise three wonderful children.

Besides the task of maintaining a household, Carroll's greatest pleasures were growing flowers (regardless of species), playing cards with her sisters, Thelma and Bev, and their twice weekly hours long phone calls.

Carroll served as treasurer for the Clearfield Area School, class of 1957, alumni for over fifty years.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred 'Al' Peterson; three children, Christopher (Stephanie) Peterson of Morrisdale, Matthew (Jill) Peterson of Cranberry Twp., and Carin (Brian) Vokes of Cranberry Twp.; six grandchildren, Kraig (Lorrin) Peterson of DuBois, Eric (Anne) Peterson of Hurricane, WV, Clairisse (Tyler) Davis of Clearfield, Sarah (Andrew) Peterson of Alexandria, KY, Lauren Vokes of Charlotte, NC, and Hunter (Kayla) Vokes of Savannah, GA; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Taylor of Clearfield and Thelma Kester (late husband Bob) of Clearfield; a sister-in-law, Kathy Dove; and numerous nieces and nephews, including the ever helpful Brenda Diehl.

In addition to her parents, Carroll was preceded in death by her brother, Edwin Thompson; and a grandson, Logan Vokes.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Clearfield and DuBois Penn Highlands Intensive Care units for their professionalism and compassion shown to Carroll during her time of care.

At her request, there will be no public visitation. There will be a Celebration of Life for family scheduled in the near future.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one's choice.
