J. Saricks

J. Charles "Charlie" Saricks, 78, a resident of Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield died on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the home.

He was born on March 7, 1928 in Freeland, a son of the late Joseph Grant and Nellie (Miller) Saricks.

Mr. Saricks was the president and owner of Clearfield Enterprises, Inc.

He was a member of The Presbyterian Church, Clearfield, the Clearfield Lions Club and the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6. In addition, he was an active member of the Clearfield YMCA and served on the board of directors of the Consolidated Inns for many years.
Mr. Saricks was a drummer and played bass guitar with several local bands over the years and was an avid jogger.
He graduated in 1945 from the MMI Preparatory School, Freeland and was a 1949 graduate of Lehigh University, Bethlehem where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for many years having attained the rank of Lt. Colonel.

He is survived by a son, Joseph C. 'Joe' Saricks, Jr. and wife Brenda of DuBois; and two granddaughters, Julie Saricks and Kristen Saricks both of DuBois.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Belva Kolessar.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Mr. Richard B. Barkley officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield YMCA, 21 N. Second Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
