Jack C. Bell , 93, of Clearfield, formerly of Bellefonte, died on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born on April 10, 1921 in Philipsburg, a son of the late Oliver and Margaret (Woods) Bell.
Mr. Bell retired as a pattern maker from the former J.H. France Refractories, Clarence where he had been employed all of his life. In his free time, Mr. Bell enjoyed fishing and golfing and also played the banjo.
He was Methodist by faith and was a member of the Clarence American Legion Post #813. A veteran of the US Army Air Corps, Mr. Bell served during World War II.
He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Butler of Clearfield; three grandchildren, Jennifer Bell, John Bell and Donald Butler; and four great grandchildren, Ryan, David, Kristen and Lauren Butler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna M. (Badham) Bell on June 6, 2012 and whom he wed December 15, 1943. He was also preceded in death by son, Gary Bell; and a grandson, Michael Butler.
At the request of Mr. Bell, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society 26 S. Second Street Clearfield.
