Jack Rea Gardlock, 73, of Olanta died on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on February 2, 1938 in Curwensville, a son of the late Haley and Maxine (Dunlap) Gardlock.
Mr. Gardlock owned and operated the car wash in Curwensville for many years. Prior to that, he worked at the Clearfield Cheese Company and then subsequently co-founded the Olanta Cheese Company.
He attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Curwensville.
Mr. Gardlock was a veteran, serving with the US Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Marilynn (McClure) Gardlock, whom he wed September 19, 1970 at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Curwensville; a brother, Dean Gardlock and wife Gail of NJ; a mother-in-law,
Gertrude McClure of Olanta; and a niece.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Shellie Rea Gardlock.
Graveside services will be private and held at the convenience of the family with the Rev Stephen D. Shields officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
According to Mr. Gardlock’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, PO Box 113, Curwensville.
