Jack H. Gardner, 90, of Clearfield died on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born on April 15, 1932 in Clearfield, a son of the late Charles and Hazel (Evans) Gardner.
Mr. Gardener was employed by Penelec for thirty years as a line truck driver and a mechanic. He was a life member of the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post No. 1785, the Clearfield American Legion and of the Second Ward Fire Co. He was also a member of the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge No. 540, the Clearfield Sons of Italy Lodge No. 189 and the Old Town Sportsmans Club. Mr. Gardner was the current president of the Stone Run Hunting and Fishing Club.
In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially the week-long fishing trips to Canada. He also looked forward to going to the shore with his family and enjoying the ocean.
Mr. Gardner served with the U. S. Navy during Korea.
He is survived by his wife, Judy A. Gardner; two children, Sandra Lee Norris and husband Jeff of DuBois, and William C. Gardner and wife Barbara of Clearfield; five grandchildren, Michael Norris, Jocelyn Long, Dawn Marie Tobias, Amy Mae Baer, and Tom Norris; two step grandchildren, Kevin Myers and Joshua Pagley; and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie Mae Buck and U. Louise Gardner; two brothers, Charles and Richard Gardner; and an infant brother, Ward Gardner.
Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Tuesday at 1 PM with Raymond Stiner officiating. Interment will be in the Historic Crown Crest Cemetery, Hyde.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Clearfield Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 AM- 1 PM.
