Jack J. Valenza, 68

of 205 Spring St., Clearfield died on Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at Clearfield Hospital.

He was born on December 18, 1933 in Clearfield, PA, a son of the late James and Sarafina (Unch) Valenza.

Mr. Valenza retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation after 30 years of service.
He was a member of St. Francis Church, Clearfield, the Clearfield Sons of Italy Lodge, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie No. 812, the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6 and the
F. Michael Sicks Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1785.
A veteran of the US Army, he served during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Shomo) Valenza, whom he married July 25, 1992 in Clearfield

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Charles Valenza, a sister Frances Evans, one niece and one nephew.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Dennis C. Hadberg as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from
2-4 & 7-9 PM.

On Friday at the funeral home, a Christian Vigil Service will be held in the afternoon and the Sons of Italy Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund , 212 South Front Street, Clearfield PA 16830 or West Side Church of Christ, 219 Merrill Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
