James Leroy Brown, 78, of West Decatur died on Monday, July 24, 2023 at his home.
He was born on July 31, 1944 in Clearfield, a son of the late John and Bessie (Pry) Brown.
Mr. Brown was employed as a journey mechanic. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing or camping. He loved to spend time working in the garage and cherished all of the time spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joan (McDonald) Brown; three children, Jimmy Brown and wife Priscilla of Clearfield, Mark Brown and wife Melissa of Olanta, and Tonya Jarrell and husband Robert of VA; nine grandchildren, Shayne, Kayla, Shawna, Johnathan, Devin, Monica, Jacob, Cecilia, and Matthew; ten great grandchildren, Aubrey, Aerionna, Brogan, Grant, Warner, Ryen, Quinn, Belle, Cain, and Reaven; a brother, John Brown and wife Dot of Clearfield; and two sisters, Carol Mease and late husband Mel of Glen Richey, and Sandy Ferrari and husband Dennis of Clearfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son Timmy Brown; and a son, John Loftus Brown.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
