James W. 'Bump' Danver, 79 of Clearfield died on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at his residence.
He was born on August 20, 1929 in Clearfield, a son of the late Lewis E. and Catherine (Rafferty) Danver.
Mr. Danver retired from TAFCO, Inc after 25 years of employment. He was also employed as a carpenter, working with Marl Fletcher.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and a life member of the Knights of Columbus Clearfield Council #409. In his early years, he was the Junior Varsity Basketball coach at the St. Francis Catholic School. Mr. Danver was an avid bowler and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren's sporting events.
A veteran of the US Army, he served during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by six children,

two step-grandsons,
Seth and Gabe Ford
four sisters,
Helen Taylor, Alice Danver, Rosella Duttry, Ruth Ann McCracken all of Clearfield
and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Amy K. (Fletcher) Danver on November 12, 2002 and whom he married July 25, 1951 at St. Francis Catholic Church, two sisters and a brother Jane Coons, Lois Danver and Francis 'Frank' Danver.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and the Clearfield Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post #1785.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from 3-8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9-9:30 AM
A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2:45 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield, the American Cancer Society, 26 S.
