James A. Ferguson, 87, of Clearfield died on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest in Allentown, PA.
He was born April 22, 1934 in Morrisdale, to the late Blake and Jane (Weaver) Ferguson.
Mr. Ferguson was the co-founder of Automotive Care Experts (ACE) of Clearfield in 1984. Prior to that, he had been employed by Dotts Motor Co for twenty three years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Clearfield. He also was a member of the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540, as well as a life member of the Elks. He was also on the property committee of the Curwensville Dam.
He is survived by two daughters; Dawn (wife of Hugh) Kaplan of South Carolina, Drena (wife of Kerry) Merkel of Whitehall, Pa; three grandchildren, Jeremy and Jason Esterly and Joanne Rohrbach; one sister,
Viola Hubler of Phillipsburg; eight great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews, and his most loved, Derrick Snyder, whom Jim thought of as his own son. Also, Jennifer (Bloom ) Moore and Richie Bloom and their families, the best neighbors ever; and Jim’s companion of many years, Nancy Frye.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sally (Halford) Ferguson. He was also preceded in death by his son Dan Ferguson; a grandson, Nicholas Kaplan; two brothers, Robert and John ( Dutch ) Ferguson; and one sister Ora Belle Dunkel.
Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 1 PM with Rev. Jimmy Hopper officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 11 AM - 1 PM.
