James Morgan

James J. Morgan, 91, of Grampian passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at his home.

He was born on January 12, 1933 in DuBois, a son of the late Norman C. and Ada Marie (Clark) Morgan.

Mr. Morgan retired from Preston Trucking after 31 years of service. He also was a heavy equipment operator in the strip mines. Mr. Morgan was a member of the former Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church and currently a member of the Hepburnia Church of Faith. He also served in the US Army during Korea.

He is survived by four children, LuAnn Anderson and husband William of Grampian, Dennis Morgan and wife Erin of Grampian, Timothy Morgan and wife Nicki of Penfield, and Gregory Morgan and wife Jessica of DuBois; eleven grandchildren, Jaime, Melinda, Dane, Brynn, Samantha, Michaela, Kara, Dory, Quin, Jaden, and Darianne; eight great grandchildren; and four siblings, Donald Morgan, Robert Morgan and wife Gail, Anna Mae Straw, and Margaret Carfley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy 'Dot' L. (Hatten) Morgan on October 19, 2001. He was also preceded in death by siblings, John Morgan, Thomas Morgan, N. Eugene Morgan, Fred Morgan, Dorothy Hartzfeld, and Geraldine Lias.

Funeral services will be held at the Hepburnia Church of Faith on Friday at 2 PM with Pastor Rick Butler officiating. Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Grampian.

Military honors will be accorded at the church.

Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Thursday from 4-7 PM and at the church on Friday from 1-2 PM.
