James P. 'Jim' Schell, 66, of Clearfield died on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.
He was born on August 6, 1955 in Oak Park, a son of the late John and Margaret (Buck) Schell.
Jim was the mayor of Clearfield for 12 years. He was a co-owner of Jack's Distributing for many years with his father, and then later drove for Fink's Services.
He was a member of Hyde Wesleyan Church; a life member of the Clearfield Fire Company and Lawrence Township Fire Company #1; and served on the Clearfield County Fair Board for 12 years. He also volunteered at the American Cancer Society.
He is survived by his wife, Jodi L. (Rowles) Schell whom he wed June 27, 1981; a son, James P. Schell II; two daughters, Janine M. Coble and husband Zach, and Jessica R. Nelson and husband James; three grandchildren, Logan Coble, Jillian Nelson, and Juliette Nelson; and a sister, Katherine Ann Schell-Smith and husband Michael, and their children, Kirslyn Schell-Smith and Kennedy Schell-Smith.
A memorial service will be held at the Hyde Wesleyan Church on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 11 AM with Rev. Robert Croft officiating.
