James Philip 'Jim' Schucker, 76, of Clearfield passed away on December 23, 2024 at his home.
He was born at the Clearfield Hospital on January 16, 1948, to Roy R. and Viola M. (Dunlap) Schucker.
He graduated from Clearfield High School in 1965 and then studied at the Allegheny Technical Insitute. He then worked at Westinghouse in Pittsburgh for several years before joining the Navy. Jim did his basic training at the Great Lakes Naval Station and then was stationed in Auburn, Alabama where he would attend college and study Electronic Engineering. He served with the Navy from 1969-1973.
Jim was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church, the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540, and the John Lewis Shade American Legion Post #6.
He is survived by his sister, Margaret 'Peggy' (Harold) Rhone of Punxsutawney, PA, and Elizabeth J. Goulet of Newport, PA; his brother David R. (Jean) Schucker of Medicine Park, OK; and many nieces and nephews. Jim is also survived by his close friends and caretakers who were like family, Rhonda (Mike) Ogden of Clearfield, Shelbie (Tiffany) King of Asheville, NC, Levi (Darien) Picard and their two children, Broc and Delaney, and Michael (Emily) Ogden and two children, Kashdon and Quinley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Jane McClarren and Gladys M. Knepp; and his brother, Robert L. Schucker
A Celebration of Life will be held at the John Lewis Shade American Legion Post #6 on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 2 PM.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the John Lewis Shade American Legion Post #6, 210 S. 2nd St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
