Janet L. Hansard, 51 of Bigler died on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at Hamot Medical Center, Erie.

She was born on June 17, 1954 in Clearfield, a daughter of Ward H. and Nina L. (Moore) McCracken of Woodland.

She was a 1972 graduate of Clearfield High School and a 1977 graduate of Gannon University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in mental health counseling.
Upon her graduation from Gannon, Mrs. Hansard was employed by the former Clearfield County Children's Home. She then moved to Texas where she worked for a short time before returning to Clearfield.
She was a volunteer with the Literacy Council and for the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, Inc where she was named volunteer of the year.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, the Life and Independence for Today and the American Syringomyelia Alliance Project.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two children, Robbie A. Hansard of Clearfield, Amy J. Hansard at home, ten brothers and sisters, Ward H. McCracken, Jr., and wife Tina of Girard, David 'Mike' McCracken and wife Verlee of Woodland, Carolyn Schenk and husband John of Clearfield, Nina 'Wezie' Adams and husband Ted of Clearfield, Edward McCracken and wife Carolyn of Jackson, CA, Chris McCracken and wife Tracey of Curwensville, Joan Castillo and husband Rick of Crosby, TX, Amy Larson and husband Tom of Philipsburg, Kevin McCracken and wife Jodie, Long Prairie, MN, Eric McCracken and wife Beth, Clearfield, and 24 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and great nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Saturday from 9-9:30 AM.

A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:30 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in memory of Janet to the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, 113 N. Third Street, Clearfield, PA
