Janet L. Turner, 89, of Woodland died on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
She was born on May 8, 1934 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Irvin T. and Alma (Lidgett) Ryen.
Mrs. Turner had been employed by General Cigar. She attended Shiloh United Methodist Church where she was also involved with Rambling Roses musical group.
She is survived by her two children, Pamela K. Maines and husband Robert 'Skeeter' of shiloh, and Joyce A. Robinson and husband William of Medix; four grandchildren, Kelley Rees of Frenchville, Lori Croyle of Winburne, Bobbi English and husband Stan Smochek of DuBois, and William English and wife Stephanie of Easton; great grandchildren, Ashlee Pelton and significant other Kenny Kephart of Clearfield, Cori Hoffmaster and significant other Karlee Lewis of Woodland, Devin Croyle of Winburne, Brandon Croyle of Winburne, Eberlee Smochek of DuBois, Grayson Smochek of DuBois, Russell English and Liam English; and great great grandchildren, Brock Medzie of Clearfield and Kohen Hoffmaster who is to be born in May 2024; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Turner was the last surviving member of her generation.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell L. Turner on August 27, 2008 and whom she wed November 21, 1953 in Clearfield. She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Irvin T. Ryen Jr., John 'Jack' Ryen, Patricia Coble, William Ryen, and Dean J. Ryen.
Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Wednesday at 12 PM with Rev. Brenda Libreatori officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 AM - Noon.
