Jason R. Kane, 46, of Thomasville passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre.
He was born on June 9, 1971 in Clearfield, a son Kitty L. (Mayhew) Kane of Philipsburg and the late Daniel Kane.
Jason will be remembered for his hard work ethic and vast amount of talents. He served with the US Navy from 1989-1993 as a member of the Presidential Ceremonial Guard as well as a Cryptologic Technician. After his military service, Jason had trained to be a policeman, worked as a mechanic, an electrician as well as having trained as a mechanic. He was very skilled with computers. Jason also had a love of music, playing bass guitar in many bands, including Double Down and Goin' for Broke.
Above everything, Jason will be remembered being an exceptional man in all aspects of the meaning. He had an amazing sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Jason had a huge heart who cared for the well-being of everyone, especially his family. He cared about God and loved hunting and animals. Jason was talented and a very special human being that touched everyone that knew him.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Janell Kane of Thomasville, four sons, Mason, Steven, Michael and Daniel Kane, all of Punxsutawney; his first wife, Karen Kurten of Punxsutawney; a sister, Shannon Saltsman and husband Todd of Woodland; a niece, Kimberly Saltsman of Philipsburg; and numerous aunts, uncles and other close family.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Ethel M. Mayhew; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Genevieve Kane.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 10:00 am with Rev. Brandon M. Kleckner as celebrant. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 5-9 PM.
