Jeanne Marie Cosner (nee Daniel) died peacefully on July 7, 2021 at Ridgeview Eldercare and Nursing Home, Curwensville at the age of 92.
Jeanne is survived by her husband, H. Judson 'Jud'; two children, Keith and his wife Katie of Copley, OH and Dr. Lynne and wife Tammy of Faunce. She is also blessed with two grandchildren, Kevin and Valerie and her boyfriend Nate; one great granddaughter, Emma; and a sister-in-law, Joni. Jeanne was preceded in death by her brother, Robert.
Jeanne was born on August 22, 1928 to Margaret (Vajda) and Harry Daniel in Lakewood, OH, where she also spent her early years growing up. She attended West Tech High School and graduated as a Stenographer with a job waiting of her at Ohio Bell Telephone. She was part of the Victory Corp. and Honor Roll and was known as 'Jeannie' in school.
After the position at Ohio Bell, she went to work for corporate lawyers at BH and P. At the request of Congressman Steve Young, she joined his team in their office. Because of the late working hours and the want to start a family with Jud, she decided to leave their employ and work at the Standard Oil Company (Sohio). She married Jud in 1949. When they moved to Avon, OH to start their family, Jeanne continued as secretary for Avon Methodist Church working for Dr. Knautz. As their children left the home, she went to work fro the Avon Lake School System where she remained for 12 years until she retired.
Jeanne was very active in the church. She was President of the Women's Society, Circle Leader, Chairman of the rummage sales and was instrumental in starting Christmas in the Barn. She was very active with the yearly fish fries and antique flea markets.
Jeanne was a very accomplished seamstress and homemaker, always making sure that her family was taken care of. She was always involved in her children's activities such as 4-H and shared her knowledge of cooking/baking and crafts with them. Her children remember her as a loving mother who encourages them to pursue their goals which is evident in Lynne becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
In her free time, she and Jud were involved with the Avon Lake Order of the Eastern Stars, square dancing, helping Jud with his Shriner commitments and she was also a past Directress of the Jesterettes. She loved her crafts and was up for any challenge such as lead framed stained glass, decoupage, quilt making, tile mosaics and pottery.
Jud and Jeanne realized their dream when they moved to Pennsylvania building their farm and dream house for their final retirement years.
