Jesse L. Hummel, 71 of West Decatur died on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Clearfield Hospital.
He was born on February 23, 1939 in Clearfield, a son of the late Paul and Lillian (Kephart) Hummel.
Mr. Hummel was employed as a truck driver for various companies around Clearfield, retiring in 2002. Previously, he worked for various coal mines for 15 years.
He is survived by nine children, Jimmy Hummel and wife Jody of York, Jeff Hubler of AR, John Hummel of DuBois, Doug Hummel and wife Cindy of Syracuse, NY, Debbie Hummel of KY, Kathleen Geer and husband Delbert Jr. of Stanton, Mike Hummel of Clearfield, Kevin Hummel of DuBois and Paul Hummel and wife Elizabeth of Houtzdale; five step-children, Burt Parks and wife Nancy of WV, Betty Parks of KS, Jeff Parks and wife Beverly of West Decatur, Elmer Parks and wife Kera of KS and Levi Ardery and wife Dawn of West Decatur; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two brothers, Edward Hummel of West Decatur and Boyd Hummel of Clearfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death a son Joe Hummel and a brother Gordon Hummel.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor James Walk officiating. Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 – 11:00 AM.
