Jesse Irwin

Jesse J. Irwin, 81 of Curwensville died on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Altoona Regional Health Care System – Altoona Campus.

He was born on June 2, 1927 in Grampian, a son of the late Daniel C. and Jean (Shively) Irwin.

Mr. Irwin was a self employed carpenter for forty five years.
He was Protestant by faith and served with the US Navy during WW II.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalie M. (Peoples) Irwin, whom he wed November 6, 1948 in Curwensville,
two children,
Daniel J. Irwin and wife Laurie of Curwensville
Darlene R. Irwin of Curwensville

five grandchildren,
Charlotte Elensky, Scott, Todd, and Shane Irwin all of Curwensville
Cory Irwin of Philipsburg

two great grandsons and one great-granddaughter,
Tanner and Ty Elensky and Adena Civils

a sister and two brothers,
Esther Lippert of Curwensville
Ralph Irwin and wife Arbutus of Stronach
Fred Irwin and wife Shirley of Curwensville

an uncle,
Ralph Irwin of NY

and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Derrick III and a sister, Beverly Kruies.

A memorial service will be held at the Curwensville Presbyterian Church on Sunday at 2:00 PM with Pastor George W. Solley officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion Post No. 6 and the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post No. 1785 Honor Guard.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.

The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville is in charge of the arrangements.
