Joanna M. Carlo, 93,of Curwensville died on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
She was born on April 28, 1919 in Curwensville, a daughter of the late Sam and Catherine (Sedmak) Lash.
Mrs. Carlo was employed at the former Kent's Sportswear for 20 years, retiring in 1976.
She was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Curwensville.
She is survived by a daughter, Barb Baird and husband James of Curwensville; a grandson, Stephen Baird; two step grandchildren, Becky Smith and Vicky Dubrow; five step great grandchildren; three step great great grandchildren; and a sister Mary Bauman of Curwensville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tucci Carlo on April 14, 1980 and whom she wed June 28, 1947 in Curwensville. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Olosky; and three brothers, John, Joe and Sam Lash.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Timothy Catholic Church, Curwensville, on Monday at 1:30 PM with Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Visitation will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Timothy Catholic Church, 306 Walnut Street, Curwensville.
