Joanne T. Mellott, 73

of 407 West Market Street, Clearfield died on Thursday, January 15, 2004 at her residence.

She was born on August 2, 1930 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Robert and Agnes (Wilson) Thorn.

A 1948 graduate of Clearfield Area High School, Mrs. Mellott was a homemaker. She wed Augustus E. ‘Gus’ Mellott, Jr., March 17, 1951 in Clearfield.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield where she was involved in the Friendship Choir and other activities. She was a former member of the Junior Women's Club and the N.O.N Club. Mrs. Mellott took great pride in raising and caring for her family. She enjoyed many crafts and was active on her high school graduation reunion committee.

She is survived by her husband, Augustus Mellott,
three children,
JoEllen Hockenbrough and husband Craig Newport, RI
Robert E. Mellott and wife Lisa Port Matilda
Michael H. Mellott and wife Michele Limestone

five grandchildren,
Brittany, Ian, Mason, Adam and Abby

a sister,
Marilyn Aughenbaugh Clearfield

and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother William T. Thorn.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday at
2:00 P.M. with Rev. Michael G. Trimmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Monday from
1-2:00 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church,
121 S. Second Street, Clearfield.
