Joette Davidson, 56

of 404 Valley Drive, West Chester and formerly of Curwensville died on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 in Curwensville.

She was born on July 16, 1946 in Clearfield, PA, a daughter of the late Robert W. Davidson and Lenore (Wright) Davidson of Curwensville.

A graduate of Clarion State University, Ms. Davidson retired as a teacher from Stetson Junior High in the West Chester Area School District after 28 years of service. She had also taught in the Bedford Area School District for 2 years. Ms. Davidson continued to tutor students after her retirement in the West Chester Schools. She had also been employed for many years with the Seymour Grant Art Gallery in West Chester.
She was a lifelong member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church, being the last direct decendent with continuing membership of the founding members of the church. She had also attended Advent Lutheran Church in West Chester. Ms. Davidson was a member of the PSEA, the Curwensville Alumni Association and served as a volunteer at Thorncroft in West Chester as a facilitator for riding instruction for the handicapped and where she also assisted in the care of the horses.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Friday at
2:00 PM with Rev. Arlene P. Beechert officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4:00 & 7-9:00 PM and on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Curwensville United Methodist Church, 328 Walnut Street, Curwensville, PA 16833, the Curwensville Public Library, 601 Beech Street, Curwensville PA 16833 or the Clearfield Foundation for Health – Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield, PA 16830.
