John Crain

October 23, 1950 — November 10, 2015

John M. Crain, 65, of Frazier Park, CA, died on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in Clearfield.

He was born on October 23, 1950 in DuBois, a son of Charlotte 'Tootie' (Logan) Crain of Clearfield and the late Billy P. Crain.

John graduated from the Brookville Area High School where he was very involved with wrestling, earning the second ever district championship for Brookville. He was known as a jack of all trades as being a general contractor, building houses, working as a house inspector and real estate developer. He also had owned a motorcycle shop and co-owned a horse ranch. John described himself as "used to be a pirate, now I'm a cowboy." One thing that he will be remembered for is the ability to accomplish whatever he put his mind to doing.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sisters, Peggy Durant and husband Tim of Clearfield, Judy Crain of Trappe, MD and JoAnn McKinley and husband Mark of Brookville; three brothers, Billy Crain and wife Betty Kay of Brookville, Timothy Crain and wife Sylvia of Clearfield and James Crain and wife Julie of Cambridge, MD; his companion, Karen Berns of Valencia, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Brookville High School Wrestling Program, 96 Jenks Road, Brookville, PA 15825 or to the American Cancer Society, 26 South Second Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.

The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield is in charge of arrangements.
