John H. Daub Sr., 71, of Clearfield died on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
He was born on November 13, 1942 in Curwensville, a son of the late Gilbert and Goldie (McCracken) Daub.
Mr. Daub had been employed by Target Sportswear, Berg Electronics, Piper Aircraft and Marathon. In his leisure time, Mr. Daub enjoyed gardening and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was the last surviving member of his generation.
Mr. Daub was a past member of the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812 and the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Daub served with the U. S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly A. (Heichel) Daub whom he wed December 31, 1966 at the Curwensville Missionary and Alliance Church; three sons, Duane Daub of Clearfield, Timothy Daub and wife Amy of Clearfield and John Daub Jr. and wife Amanda of Clearfield; six grandchildren, Shane, Eric, Curtis, Alex, Rylee and Savanna Daub; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara Graham and Betty J. Lenhart; four brothers, Harold, Samuel Sr., Donald and Gilbert Daub; a nephew, Samuel Daub Jr.; and a niece, JoEllen Daub.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating. Interment will be in the Palestine Cemetery, Morrisdale.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm and on Friday from 10-11 am.
