John E. Dunworth, 94, of Grampian went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born on September 14, 1930 in Grampian, a son of the late Vernon Ira and Helen R. (Ritz) Dunworth.
John was employed for 33 years by Hallstrom Construction of DuBois. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Curwensville where he served in various positions through out the years. He also was a US veteran, having served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by two daughters, Connie Dunworth of DuBois and Sharon Stott and husband Lee of Grampian; three grandchildren, Mandy Patterson Greene and husband Mike of Clearfield, Christy Patterson of DuBois and Sarah Winslow Brubaker; three great grandchildren, Marissa and Alex Greene and Allison Brubaker. He is also survived by his special friend Delores Spaid.
Also survived by sisters Jean Mathews of Stronach, Joan Heichel of Woodland, Nancy Neeper and husband LeRoy of Curwensville, Lois McMasters of Doylestown; one brother, Arnold Dunworth and wife Linda of Grampian; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Dunworth of DuBois, and Pat Dunworth of Luthersburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances E. (Addleman) Dunworth on October 29, 2013 whom he wed on December 24, 1955 in Grampian. He was also preceded in death by son, Ronald Dunworth, and a daughter Gail Winslow; brothers, Vern Jr. and James Dunworth; a sister, Margie Bailey; and brothers-in-law, Lawrence Butch Mathews, Clair Heichel and Keith McMasters.
The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to Connie M. and Summer for their excellent care given to their father.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Curwensville, on Thursday October 31, 2024 at NOON with Rev. Daniel M. Osterhout officiating. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian.
Friends will be received at the church on Thursday October 31, 2024 from 10 AM until the hour of services at noon.
