John C. Goebert , 56,of Clearfield died on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born on October 25, 1956 in Germany, a son of the late Floernt Raymond and Catherine Ida (Motz) Goebert.
John operated a heating and cooling business in upstate New York before coming to Clearfield more than five years ago to launch the Apple Banquets catering company. He also dedicated significant time to his community in New York State through participation in the Masons. His optimism and vision inspired others. John will be remembered for his unfailing strength and belief that anything is possible.
He is survived by his wife Olga (Cyhanenko) Goebert whom he wed March 13, 2005; a daughter Amy Goebert Dorfer and husband Robert of Orchard Park, NY and a son John D. Goebert and Martha and their daughter Payton of Batavia, NY.
A memorial service will be held at the Florian Banquet Center, 321 Mill Road, Clearfield on Friday at 5:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society 26 S. Second Street, Clearfield or Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 700 Leonard Street, Clearfield.
