John Melvin McCracken, 72, of Curwensville, died at home in the arms of the Lord Jesus on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
He was born on May 13, 1951 in Clearfield, a son of the late John Lee and Josephine Rachel (Hockenberry) McCracken.
John was employed as a carpet installer throughout Clearfield County. He was an avid gardener and loved spending time with his family, especially turkey dinners on Thanksgiving. He is survived by his wife, Gail Ann (Bunnell) McCracken of Curwensville; two children, Jason John McCracken of Curwensville, and Beth Ann Shaffer and husband Chris of Clearfield; two grandchildren, Alaina Shaffer and boyfriend Kyler Kephart of Clearfield; and Richie Shaffer and girlfriend Hayley Moore of Clearfield; two sisters, Sharon Stiles and husband James of Croft, and JoAnn Quade and husband Denny of Lecontes Mills; many nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Pam Smeal and husband John of Bainbridge, and Linda Manhart and husband Craig of Brockway.
