John Natoli, 73, of Ambler, died on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born on July 5, 1950 in Clearfield, he was the son of the late John August and Joanne (Carns) Natoli.
John received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh and then continued with earning a Masters Degree and PhD in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. John had been employed with Rohm and Hass as a chemical engineer for over 20 years. He was also an adjunct college professor at Penn State University and Rowan University. John had made several inventions and held several patents, all of which he was very proud. In his free time, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved to camp, fish, go backpacking, and also enjoyed skiing. Some of John’s other hobbies included gardening, cooking and reading.
John is survived by his wife, Ellen (Walsh) Natoli of Ambler, whom he wed on May 22, 1993; four siblings, Annette Gratzmiller and husband William of Lower Burrell, Keith Natoli and wife Karen of Duncansville, Mary Natoli and wife Teresa Welch of Bellefonte, and Joan Natoli of Moorestown, NJ; seven nieces and nephews; and thirteen great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his nephew, Andrew Gratzmiller.
A service will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 11 AM with Fr. Samuel Bungo officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 10-11 AM.
