John Charles Peters, 72, left this world suddenly on March 13, 2023 to go to a far better place. He was met there by his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Edward Peters, and his dearly loved sister, Ruth. One day if we know, love and serve Christ, we will join them.
John was born on November 21, 1950 in Punxsutawney during a snow blizzard. He attended Purchase Line High School and Penn State University Mont Alto campus. He worked 35 years as The Milkman, having been employed by Quaker Hills, VT Smith, Meadow Brook, Sani Dairy, and Deans. He loved Curwensville Alliance Church and served as a Sunday School teacher and elder. John's Christian faith was central to his life.
John served his country during the Vietnam Era.
He is survived by his wife, Gale (Shaffer) Peters whom he wed on August 10, 1974; three sons, Andrew Peters and wife Terri, Scott Peters, and Ryan Peters and wife Jessica; five grandchildren, Raegan Nichole, Bennet Andrew, Jacob Paul, Kennedy Elizabeth, and Nicholas Richard; two brothers, Lee Peters and wife Patty, and Dave Peters and wife Joy; and a brother-in-law, John Anthony.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Anthony.
A memorial service will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Friday at 11 AM. Burial will be in the Mt. Joy Cemetery, Clearfield.
