Joseph Aveni

Joseph A. Aveni, 52, of Clearfield died on Friday, November 12, 2010 at his residence.

He was born on January 26, 1958 in Clearfield, a son of the late Shirley (Capatch) Aveni and James A. and Joan Aveni of Clearfield.

Mr. Aveni was employed by the former Harbison Walker Refractories, Clearfield and also at Centre Concrete.
He was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and the Sons of Italy Lodge No. 189, Clearfield.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved to cook.

He is survived by four children, Kristen Johnson and husband Michael of Clearfield, Joseph J. Aveni of State College, Frank Aveni of Clearfield and Emily Aveni of Clearfield; a grandson, Micah; a sister Jennifer Harford and fiancé Joseph Becker of Clearfield and two nieces, Ashley Harford of Clearfield and Jessica Komonczi of Curwensville.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Joseph and Jennie (Marino) Aveni and his maternal grandparents George and Martha (Vanscoyc) Capatch.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at
9:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from 4-8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8-8:30 AM.

A Christian vigil service will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:45 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield PA 16830 or to the charity of one's choice.
