Judy often talked about attending a one room school house, Point Lookout, in Philipsburg and memories at Third Ward school in Clearfield. Judy attended Amherst High School in Amherst, New York where she met her love, Ken. After graduation she became a beautician.
Judy and Ken married on November 8, 1962 at the US Airforce base in Zweibrücken, Germany, where they later welcomed their son. After leaving Germany, they moved to Omaha, Nebraska, then Williamsville, New York and then Toronto, Canada. They moved back to Clearfield in 1972 to raise their family. With the passion for crafting, Judy opened The Village Shoppe a Creative Craft Center and expanded to three locations. She was involved with Welcome Wagon, BPW and N.O.N. With the love of children and crafts she and long-time friend, Dottie (Evans) Crissman, started an outreach puppet presentation to children at the Shaw Public Library, in Clearfield.
Judy was a gentle soul. She was kind, comforting and lovable. The love that she had for her family and friends was exceptional. You were blessed to have been the recipient of Juju’s love and care. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were always welcomed by her smile and beaming love. She will be greatly missed by every one who knew her.
Judy had a gift of storytelling and always dreamed of writing a children’s book. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Judy’s memory to the Curwensville Public Library Story Time Program (601 Beech Street, Curwensville, PA 16833) and St. Francis Adopt a Student Fund (230 S. 2nd Street, Clearfield, PA 16830).
A celebration of Judy’s beautiful life will be held at Starr Hill Winery in Curwensville. An open Memorial service will be April 2nd.
