Judith Young

Judith A. Young, 78, of Clearfield died on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the Christ the King Manor in DuBois.

She was born on November 4, 1943 in St. Mary's, a daughter of the late Edward and Clara (Gardner) Mohr.

Mrs. Young was employed as a registered nurse, retiring from Ridgeview Eldercare and Rehabilitation in Curwensville. Prior to that, she had worked at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield Hospital, Christ the King Manor and Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital.
She had attended the Calvary Baptist Tabernacle in Curwensville and also the Clearfield Alliance Church. She was also President of TOPS.

She was a graduate of the Central Pennsylvania School of Nursing in 1985 as a registered nurse. Previously, she graduated from the Clearfield County Vocational Technical School as an Licensed Practical Nurse in 1973.

She is survived by a daughter, Beth Ann O'Shell and fiance Phillip Hodgson of Havelock, NC; three grandchildren, Wallace Kowalski III of Texas, Sean O'Shell and wife Chelsea Korycinski of Tupper Lake, NY, and Shannon O'Shell of Newport, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Young on January 21, 2013 and whom she wed September 8, 1962. She was also preceded in death by two children, Travis Young and Tracey Elliott; a sister, Sara Wegemer; and a half sister, Joy Longhi..

Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Friday at 11 AM with Dr. Duane White officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
