Julia Heck

Julia R. Heck, 92, of Clearfield died on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

She was born in 1924 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Robert E. and Myrtle H. Ray.

Mrs. Heck was graduate of Clearfield High School, Class of 1942. She had been employed by Bell Telephone Company, servicing Clearfield, Bellefonte, and Niagara Falls, N.Y. Mrs. Heck was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield where she was involved with the Women's Circle.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Barrow and husband Thomas of Harrisburg and Kathy Heck of Clearfield; a granddaughter, Stacy Brooks and husband Darold of Memphis, TN; two great grandchildren, Grace and Jacob Brooks; a sister, Dorothy Shaw; a sister-in-law, Margaret Edgren of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Lewis Heck on February 25, 2005 and whom she wed April 3, 1947 in Clearfield. She was also preceded in death by brother, Robert E. Ray, Jr.; and four sisters, Emma Shaw, Betty Tagliente, Ethel Zickefoose and Barbara McCorkle.

A brief service will be held at the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde on Tuesday at 11 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association, 270 Walker Drive Suite, 201-B State College, PA 16801 or the American Parkinson's Disease Association, 420 East North Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
