Kathryn Boam

Kathryn P. (Bock) Boam, 87

a former resident of North East, PA and most recently of Clearfield died on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at Clearfield Hospital.

She was born on October 21, 1916 in Centre Hill, Graham Twp., a daughter of the late James A. and Della (Peters) Bock.

Mrs. Boam was first employed as a pastry baker at the Little Restaurant in Philipsburg. Upon moving to Erie, she was employed for a number of years by General Electric as a crane operator. She then moved to North East where she was a cook at Miss Britton's Boarding Home.
She was very active in the Free Methodist Church in North East, including music, the missionary society and children's programs.
She and her husband spent three years during the 1960's ministering at the Olivet Mission, a street mission in Chicago. They also cared for six foster children.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald D. Boam on October 1, 1995 and whom she married April 20, 1946 in North East and these brothers and sisters, Edward, John, Bruce, Bessie Dixon, Charles, George, Nellie, James, Dorothy Hackett and an infant brother and infant sister.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday at
11:00 A.M. with Rev. H. Aden Wertz, III, pastor of the Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Allport, officiating. Interment will follow in the North East Cemetery, North East.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 6-9:00 PM.
