Kathy Leigh Timko, 59, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt died on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
She was born on February 4, 1951 in Greensburg and lived most of her life in Clearfield.
She was a 1969 Clearfield High School graduate and a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Early Education. Kathy was a dog lover, particularly fond of miniature dachshunds. She liked nothing better than spending time with her grandchildren. She took great pride in her work over the years and her purpose was to teach and help young people who often had special needs. Her caring nature and compassionate soul allowed her to help many. During a 30 year career, Kathy worked for Head Start, Clearfield Area School District and Cen-Clear Child Services.
She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield.
She is survived by her mother, Ann B. (Darr) Carlson of Clearfield; her husband, Ronald J. Timko, of Clearfield whom she married August 12, 1982 in Clearfield; two sons, Ryan M. Lee and wife, Jennifer Lee, of Charlotte, NC and Timothy P. Lee of Clearfield; a step-son, Ben J. Timko and wife, Dana, of Clearfield; six grandchildren, Jacob and Adelyn Lee of Charlotte, NC, Alex Lee of Pittsburgh, Noah and Kaleb Lee of Curwensville and Milano Timko of Clearfield; three sisters and a brother, Debbie Freeman and husband, Bob, of Clearfield, Patty Keen and husband, Rusty, of DuBois, Scott Carlson and wife, Beth, of Delmont and Karen McKenzie and husband, Mike, of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will always be remembered and will be dearly missed by family, especially her subtle laugh and generous spirit.
She was preceded in death by her father Edward W. Carlson; her first husband, George B. Lee, father of Ryan and Tim; and a nephew, Jeff Keen.
Funeral services will be held at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. with Dr. Duane A. White officiating.
Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 1-2 p.m.
