Keith David Gangewere, D.O., 51 of Clearfield died on Friday, February 3, 2006 at his residence.
He was born on September 18, 1954 in Bethlehem, PA, a son of Bob H. Gangewere of Wind Gap, Pa and the late Doris (Lemley) Gangewere.
Dr. Gangewere was currently in private practice in Internal Medicine in Philipsburg. Prior to that he had practiced in the Philipsburg Medical Center and in private practice in Clearfield, Cleveland, OH, Oak Hill, OH, McConnellsburg and Wind Gap where he began his career in 1981.
He was most recently affiliated with Philipsburg Area Hospital and had been affiliated with the following hospitals during his practice: Clearfield Hospital, Richmond Heights General Hospital, Oak Hill Medical Center and the Fulton County Medical Center.
In June of 1980 he received his Doctorate of Osteopathy from The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and continued his post-doctoral training at the Grandview Hospital and Medical Center in Dayton, OH from 1980-1981.
He completed his undergraduate studies at Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, PA having earned a B.S. in Biology in 1976.
He was a 1972 graduate of the Pen Argyl Area High School, Pen Argyl, PA.
Dr. Gangewere was certified in August of 1997 by the AAMRO.
His professional affiliations include the American Osteopathic Association, the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association and the Southern Medical Association.
He was protestant by faith and had great love and devotion for his family, spending as much time with them as possible. He enjoyed woodworking and photography and was an avid reader.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Debra (Wisehaupt) Gangewere, whom he married October 28, 1989 in Wind Gap; six children, Gretchen, Nicholas, Vanessa, Benjamin, William and David; and a brother, Robert Gangewere of Plainfield, NJ.
Graveside services will be held at the Wind Gap Cemetery, Wind Gap on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Thomas Harmic officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery.
Friends will be received at Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-9 PM.
