Kenneth E. (Pap) Cathcart, 71, of Treasure Lake, DuBois and formerly of Curwensville, died Sunday, February 26, 2006 at his residence.
He was born October 26, 1934 at Curwensville, a son of the late Charles H. Cathcart and Emma (Rishel) Cathcart Richards.
Mr. Cathcart was employed for 23 years at Superior Pet Products. He then worked for seven years at the Curwensville High School, from which he retired in 1996.
He was a member of Camp Clary and a former member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Charlotte Kessler; four children, Sherry Windisch and husband Scott of Pittsburgh, Teri Fleeson and husband Jerry of Freedom, Randy Cathcart and wife Sue of Clarion, Tammy Sipes and husband Leland of Curwensville; 5 step-children, John Whaling Jr. of DuBois, Daniel Whaling and wife Julie of Falls Creek, Jeffrey Whaling and wife Wendy of Brookville, Melanie Cole and husband Randy of DuBois and Tara Pfeufer and husband Ben of DuBois; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers; Betty Lou McKenrick and husband Don of VA, Linda Lee Richards and husband Mark of Tipp City, OH, Max Cathcart and wife Norma of Curwensville and James Cathcart of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joanne (Kephart) Cathcart on April 7, 1994 and whom he married June 15, 1955 in Curwensville and a brother Charles H. Cathcart.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Arlene P. Beechert officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Olanta RD.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Thursday from 10-11:00 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Curwensville United Methodist Church, 602 State Street, Curwensville, the Christ Lutheran Church, 875 Sunflower Drive, DuBois or to the DRMC Hospice, P.O. Box 447, Dubois.
