Kenneth Dale Peters, 65, of Curwensville went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 25, 2008. He passed away at his residence.
Born May 26, 1942 in Barberton, OH, he was the son of Victor "Bud" and Cleda Mae (Spencer) Peters.
He attended the Community Baptist Church of Curwensville.
On February 16, 1962 he married Ruby Arlene London at the Church of God in Hepburnia, PA.
He retired from FCI-Berg Electronics after 30 years of service as a tool and die specialist. He completed his tool and die apprenticeship at Penn State University.
He was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed hunting and golfing with his family and friends. He adored his family and spent many hours cheering for his grandchildren at their wrestling matches, baseball games, basketball games and soccer games. He rarely missed a game. He enjoyed having coffee with the "guys" in the morning and listening to his "oldies music".
In 1959 he captured the PIAA District 9 wrestling championship at 103 pounds, and was runner-up in 1961 at 112 pounds.
He served active duty in the US Army in Maryland and Italy from 1962 and 1964 and was discharged Jan 31, 1968.
He was a member of the Curwensville American Legion and the Eagle Ridge Golf Course.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother Cleda Mae Peters; a daughter, Tracey L. McCracken and her husband Chris; two sons, Kenny W. Peters and his wife Christine and Tom D. Peters and his wife Tammy, all of Curwensville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Mark, Brett, Hunter, Chris Jr. and Joe McCracken; Tyler, Ashley, Jordan, Erika and Joshua Peters. He is survived by his great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Jacob and Alaina McCracken. Also surviving are his sisters and brother, Becky Hooven and her husband Jerold of Olanta, Randy Peters and his wife Debbie, Joe Peters and his wife Helen, Dave Peters, Sue McCormick and her husband Jim, all of Curwensville.
He was preceded in death by his father on December 29, 1999.
A memorial service will be held at the Community Baptist Church, Curwensville on Friday March 28, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Todd Hogue officiating. Interment will be private in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
