Kenneth L. Speedy Smeal, 66, of Hyde died on Sunday, October 15, 2006 at Clearfield Hospital.
He was born on July 19, 1940 in Clearfield, a son of Mildred D. (Mason) Smeal of Clearfield and the late Ray A. Smeal.
Mr. Smeal was employed by the former Clearfield Cheese from 1960-1988. He later worked at the Best Western, Clearfield as a cook and retired from Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville. He also worked on the family farm.
He was a member of the Parsonville Assembly of God.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Dotty A. (Lippert) Smeal, whom he wed October 8, 2002 in Clearfield; four children, Kimberly Ann Kephart and husband Kenny, David Ray Smeal, and Betty Jane Shanechuck and husband Paul, all of Clearfield, and Kenneth Ray Smeal and wife Teresa of Wernersville; three step children, Richard Larson of Curwensville, Jennifer William of Ginter and Michael Larson of Frenchville; eight grandchildren,
Heather Smeal, Krista Shanechuck, Steven Shanechuck, Matthew Smeal, Alyssa Smeal, Nathan Smeal, Courtney Berg and Megan Berg; two sisters and two brothers, Leroy C. Smeal and wife Nancy of Houtzdale, Kathy E. Caldwell and husband Jerry of Curwensville, Al R. Smeal and wife Rose of Sanborn and Linda K. Smeal McCombs of Morrisdale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Brooks E. McCombs, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at the Parsonville Assembly of God on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Ernest E. Simmers officiating. Interment will follow in the Baughman Cemetery, Sanborn.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and at the church on Thursday from 10-11:00 AM.
