Kimberly Ann Kephart, 61, of Clearfield, went peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Savior surrounded by a circle of loving family and friends on May 14, 2021 at Penn Highlands DuBois. Kimberly fought a very courageous fight against COVID-19.
Born on February 20, 1960 in Clearfield, to the late Kenneth L. Smeal and Edith (Larson) Keith.
Kimberly attended Moshannon Valley Area High School and Pennsylvania Academy of Cosmetology. She worked for the Bayer Clothing Company for 29 years. Kimberly also was a loving caregiver for the elderly. Her most important and favorite job was being a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, sister and daughter.
On October 8, 2005 she married her soul mate, Kenneth W. Kephart, at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Clearfield.
In addition to her husband and mother, Kimberly leaves behind a daughter Heather E. Smeal of Clearfield; three step-children, Kenneth J. Kephart, Houtzdale, Lance Kephart of Sterling, and Ashley Kephart (Trevor Coleman) of Brisbin.
As well, Kimberly was the beloved sister of David R. Smeal, Betty J. (Paul) Shanechuck, both of Clearfield, and Kenneth R. (Teresa) Smeal of Houtzdale.
Kimberly leaves behind two step-grandchildren, Cameron Collins and Charlee Coleman of Brisbin; as well as a grand dog, Peachy. She was 'Aunt Mimmy' to several nieces and nephews, Krista Ann Shanechuck, Steven Shanechuck, Matthew (Samantha) Smeal all of Clearfield, Nathan Smeal of State College, Alyssa Smeal of Ephrata; and two great nephews and a great niece, Wyatt, Peyton and Maverick Smeal.
Kimberly belonged to a large extended family filled with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and life-long friends who adored her.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her father Kenneth L. Smeal, whom affectionately caller her 'Doodle', on October 15, 2006; her paternal grandparents, Ray and Mildred Smeal; her maternal grandparents, Henry and Liza Mae Larson; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kimberly belonged to Hyde Wesleyan Church in Hyde, and proudly served on the board of her church. Kimberly was a devout Christian Woman, growing up Pentecostal and held her faith close to her heart. One of her favorite verses is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.”
Kimberly made everything she touched beautiful, was a faithful friend to many and left everyone and everything better than she found them. She was an angel on earth who was deeply loved by so many.
A private grave side ceremony will be held at a later time. She will be interred at Thompson Cemetery in Glen Richey.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests making a memorial contribution to Hyde Wesleyan Church, 1215 Riverview Road Clearfield, PA 16830.
