Kimberly Sue Sponsler, 40, of State College died on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

She was born on September 29, 1976 in Clearfield, a daughter of Jacqulyn L. (Baumgardner) Stone of State College and the late Glenn F. Stone.

Kimmy was a welder by trade and also volunteered at Mt. Nittany Medical Center with the Patient Walking Program. She was active in her local communities volunteering at many events. She donated her time as the race director Boalsburg Memorial Day 5K run and the St. Francis Pony Trott 5K in Clearfield. She was a very warm and loving person who always wore a smile. She loved family events like reunions and family vacations. There was nothing more dear to her than family. That is how we will be carry her in our memories.


In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Aric Sponsler; three children, Devan Sponsler of State College, Jonathan Sponsler of Chesapeake, VA and Avery Sponsler of State College; a sister, Angela Icaza and husband Andy of Falls Church, VA; two brothers, Vance Stone and wife Kellie of Kent Island, MD and Jon Stone and wife Michele of Valley Forge; and grandmothers Imogene Baumgardner of Clearfield and Edith Stone of Curwensville.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Clarence Baumgardner and George Stone.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday at 1:30 PM with Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:30 - 1:30 PM.
